April 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Things are really quite green in Wilton these days after all the atmospheric river storms we\u2019ve had! Still no permit for the ADU but soooo close. Dave and Matt built me 3\/6 of my Birdie Beds- 4\u2019 x 8\u2019 raised metal beds. One has a pvc pipe trellis on it. I transplanted some green beans to get things started!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I have mapped out a 1\u2019 square place by place map for all of my plants taking into account the placement of the sun, plant height etc. If half the stuff grows we will have quite a bit of produce this year. There are green beans, several squash including summer squash and zucchini, cantaloupe, honeydew and watermelons, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers- lots of different things to see what I can grow and what we really like! Well\u2026what they really like I should say! Green beans are for me. We also have yellow onions, garlic and potatoes growing in canvas bags around the pool area! Those take longer so I wanted to make sure they got started. We still don\u2019t know for certain if we will have to move the fences whenever the ADU gets built. There are 2 red grape plants that we trimmed back- scary because you really cut them so far back. They have started to grow out. We have also planted the blueberries and ginger in pots already. The raspberries are really leafing out and should go in the ground soon. I\u2019ve started some of the herbs to transplant out here too. The blackberries also should probably get planted &#8211; they are hanging up in the pool area too. These raspberries are truly growing quickly<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>And finally the orchard area. It looks like all the plants are leafing out if not already flowering. The plums and apricot have flowered already and the apple trees are just starting to flower. I have weeded and fed them all. So many weeds! The pomegranate\/persimmon? tree had 2 or 3 flowers but has very pretty early red leaves. Some of the citrus also have flower buds on them. One pear tree has one flower but the other just started to show buds.
