I think I got out of order- this was a very interesting park near the Bolser’s house in St. George. After our tire replacement/alignment, we headed to Snow Canyon to see Jim, Carrie, Sydney and Jon. We had a couple of nice visits with them, played cards and ate food. You know- the usual family type events. We did have a special outing to embarrass Sydney while she worked at Wendy’s- and we got Orange creamsicle frosties too!

Our site was very private and quite nice, if a bit hot!

This is true desert- hot, dry and lots of American Desert Tortoises! We did not have electricity (read that as NO AC!) so it was a bit different for us. We backed into a canyon against the beautiful red and pink rock walls and had a lot of privacy. We enjoyed early morning hikes and drives looking for tortoises and peregrine falcons. So many reptiles but we did not see any Gila monsters. We did see a couple different snakes – a bullsnake and a king snake I could identify. Not rattlers, which is fine by us!

It was a rough time- this was our “back” wall
Very beautiful in the Utah red rock way!
We saw lots of tortoises on our early morning walks!
Beautiful desert lilies
Not jack rabbits- just cottontails
A surprising number of loud birds!
So many lizards

Our visit was pretty short but fun. As usual Dave’s Pictures will be nicer than mine and a button will be added soon.
