We hosted a baby shower for Jenny and Matt to celebrate Gabe’s upcoming birth in November. What a fun time we had even prepping for it although there were the normal “Gaaa” moments. Cherie did a lot of the planning and idea research, Lori did a ton of idea research (on Pinterest naturally), and I coordinated much of the food prep and keeping everyone away from food poisoning!
After the hottest July on record, it cooled down a bit in August and actually rained on the day of the shower. Who woulda thunk it!? Thank God for our covered porch and large great room. We had 23 guests and family, a taco bar, “bun in the oven” sliders, “babies in blankets,” a stroller melon salad, beautifully decorated shortbread cookies and a stroller cupcake set up. Plus assorted snacks of course!
And of course, you gotta play games! We had Guess the baby food (Blech), baby trivia and word scramble, Don’t say Bay-bee, and Diaper Pong. Many, many laughs!
And finally presents for the family. All in all, a fun time!
