The plants are beginning to respond as if spring has started although this upcoming week will prove them wrong. We need rain so desperately, but there is none in sight so I have started the sprinkler to run daily while we are gone. But the cooler weather means that Matt and Jenny can still enjoy the lettuces when they come to check up on things. It was getting to edge of where they might bolt when it was in the mid-70s!
The broccoli is also growing like crazy – you can see where I snip off florets for Dave to eat (absolutely I DO NOT EAT BROCOLLI!!). Blech! The plants are such a rich deep green also.

The Brussel sprouts have finally truly started to “sprout!” It is so weird how the leaf falls off and then the head begins to grow. The largest little sprouts are the size of a small pea now. I just hope they get a chance to grow before the higher temperatures hit. Again a reason to be glad it is cooling down a bit right now!

I have also started a daily harvest of snow peas – they are coming on fast. Matt and Jenny will have peas coming out their ears when they come to harvest! So many flowers also. The snap peas are just starting to flower. These peas are so tender to eat even when they get some size – so deliciously yummy. See – I do eat a few green things!

The flowers are also starting to grow and flower, as are many of the trees. They are all budding ot and it is still the middle of February! Not good. But these tulips sure brighten up the garden!

I hope you are having a wonderful day! We are off for our Southwest USA tour – it will be interesting to see how changed the garden is in 6 weeks!!
