The garden is about a month and a half behind last year since we had so much rain this winter. So I just gathered the last of the peas, lettuce and celery (on May 21st!). We had sooo many snow peas because I planted a ton and then they just kept producing. But I already miss having them fresh! And the new plants – squash, zucchini, watermelon, cantaloupe, green beans and tomatoes (yes- I am trying Roma and cherry tomatoes although I’m not eating them!) have just been planted so they are quite tiny. Hard thing since we are now leaving for a couple of months so hopefully the watering system continues to work!

But the flowers have been so amazing. All of the perennials have gone crazy. They have never seen so much water and cooler temperatures. We actually had a sort of spring. And then last week – summer. As usual around here. So the newbies are really growing like crazy and I can’t wait to see how big everything is by the time we get back. Some of the fast growers may already have fruit. I have already seen more butterflies and bees than in the last couple of years so hopefully that continues also!

Happy gardening!
