I was quite happy to come home from Arizona and find my garden mostly intact. Three times last year my plants were eaten to the ground by deer. So far, the deer fence is holding up. I now have 6 or 7 green beans a day to pick but many little ones on the plants. I may be sharing those beans with a rodent or something though because ones I was watching sometimes disappear! And I have 3 corn plants producing visible tassels so I may yet get homegrown corn! The flowers are blooming and spreading out.

No set summer squash yet, but the flowers are beautiful
Should I be concerned that the cantaloupe and watermelon seem to be competing to climb up the wall?
Whoo hoo…. my favorite veggie is corn on the cob!

Surprisingly, I do enjoy my time out in the garden even though it is hot out. Communing with the “calm” plants is almost meditative. And then I can come in, cool off, and read/nap. A great way to spend an afternoon!

Love these red begonias!
