Now that we live in Wilton, the Shingle Springs property is very neglected. One or the other of us goes maybe 2 times a week, but that is for the inside, not the yards. We are trying to get it cleaned out and on the market, but it moves very slowly. I had hoped it would already be up for sale, but we have a lot of time still before it is ready. The mountains look so pretty right now and the two valleys so green. The yard not so much.

However- the years of planting bulbs is really paying off. With the unusually warm weather right now, they are coming up everywhere. I thought I had pulled all the hyacinths last year but apparently not. There are three of them, very bright pinky purple, flowering. The daffodils are coming up all down the driveway. The irises are putting up their leaves for quite the show soon I’m sure.

Guess I missed these hyacinths!

Many years and many different daffodils coming up along the blacktop

In the pool area things are a bit wild looking but the azaleas are full of buds, and the freesia are starting to flower like crazy. At least having a pool guy has kept the pool looking great!

Freesia are some of my favorite flowers

The craziest thing I found was Jalapeño peppers ripening on the saddest stick of a plant ever. It has zero leaves but I was able to pick 3 red ripe peppers and there are three half ripe one I left. The garden is completely overrun with grasses and weeds. Sigh

Only half the stem is green!
